About to the photo.
This photo is taken
from the video KOTZ KAL TZO. FIESTA TRADICIONAL DE DZITAS, about the
dance of the degollamiento (throttling) of the turkeys, which is a traditional
activity that has been practiced for many years in this community. This
celebration is constituted by three organizations, one of these being
a cuches (chiefs) organization that is made up by 42 people who take
care to organize the dance of the degollamiento (throttling) of the
turkeys, the dance of the pig head and the one of ramilletes. One of
these three organizations is a church organization and comprises some
of the chiefs, who organize the rosaries, masses, unions and processions
for these celebrations. These celebrations/dances are completed by an
organization of which the municipal president is in charge to organize
the actividadades (activity) of recreation. This is celebrated by popular
dances, as well as the run of bulls, games (show/fair rides), etc.
