Artist Biography
Artist work

Hilda Ruaine is a permanent resident in Australia, migrating from New Zealand and residing in Sydney since 1998.
Hilda has exhibited throughout Australia and New Zealand collaborating with a range of artists from various backgrounds; the most recent collaboration and residency was in Sydney for the Pacific Wave Festival working in collaboration with fellow pacific artists and exploring issues of migration, transit and adaptation to foreign lands.

Her practice individually based is technically varied but collectively
is primarily mixed media. Subjectively Hilda explores issues that are in response to her surrounding
environment; issues of exploration range from cultural
misinterpretation, feminine sexuality, victimisation, migration, religion and more recently, the adolescent psyche.
