Award-winning photographer Jo-Anne Driessens was commissioned by Bungabura Productions to record the making of the documentary film ‘Black Chicks Talking’.
Jo-Anne’s interest in photography began in high school and developed through her research work with Aboriginal communities in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast.
Driessens gained further experience during the late eighties participating in photographic seminars, workshops and specialist courses, including a four-year cadetship in conjunction with the Image Unit of the State Library of Queensland where she gained valuable experience with renowned photographer, Reina Irmer.
Driessens graduated with a Diploma of Photography in 1999 and won the Canon Overall Folio Award for the 1999 Graduation Year, South Bank TAFE. Her current role is acting Indigenous Resource Officer in the Indigenous Services Unit, State Library of Queensland.
